Laser Marking Workstation
One of the largest applications for lasers is in permanent marking in the automotive, aerospace and medical device or any industry where part traceability is needed. The Laser Advantage UVM is a universal laser marking workstation. The compact footprint is ideal for production environments. The system offers a great deal of flexibility with laser options of 20, 30 or 50 Watts of average power. The galvo head has optional F-theta lenses of 100, 163 or 254 millimeters to match the scan field and resolution required for the job. Part handling can either be manual or motorized with X, Y and Z linear stages or rotary stages for cylindrical parts.
The Laser Advantage software is intuitive and easy to use. An unlimited number of projects can be stored and includes serialization to automatically increment the part identifier. This is of particular importance for medical devices. The Food and Drug Administration has enacted the Unique Device Identifier rule in both human- and machine-readable form. Lasers are ideal in that the mark must be permanent, not affect the function of the device and be 100% biocompatible. The inherent flexibility of laser marking permits 1, 2 or even 3-D barcodes or data matrix to be etched.
