Laser Cutting / Drilling

At Laser Advantage, we utilize CO2 from 200W up to 1KW and YAG lasers ranging up to 400W. Our capabilities are up to 1/4” in thickness for carbon steels, up to 1/8” in thickness in Stainless Steel, ¾”for plastics and up to an inch for woods. We can also provide small hole drilling in the range of .005” and up using either CO2 or YAG lasers.

Positioning tolerances are as small as .001” and part tolerances are as low as .003”, with table capacities ranging from 12”X12” up to 40”X80”. And several of our machines include rotary as well as Z axis stages. Materials can be processed with Argon, Air, Oxygen or Nitrogen. With the use of CAD/CAM software, we can cut almost any geometry that can be provided by our customer.

Laser Welding

Laser Advantage can provide laser welding utilizing YAG lasers ranging from 150W up to 400W. All of the common alloys and pure metals are welded with some requiring special techniques. These include stainless steels, aluminums, titanium, copper and brass. The process can be done in several manners but the two most common methods are “spot welding” or “seam welding” and the choice is usually determined by the design of the parts to be welded. Some common welding applications include medical devices, fiber optic equipment, micro-electronic packaging and aerospace products. All of our welding lasers are 4 axis to accommodate almost any part configuration. All welding is done with a shielding gas to protect the materials from oxidation.
